The latest US Open was awesome !

The 145th edition of the US Open tennis tournament ended yesterday! 🎾

The two finals that took place this weekend kept spectators on the edge of their seats, 

as they were very intense. Aryna Sabalenka (WTA No. 1) managed to win the US Open for 

the second year in a row against North American player Amanda Anisimova: 6-3, 7-6 (3).    🏆

The top two players in the ATP rankings faced off yesterday in an epic match. Carlos Alcaraz (No. 1 

in the ATP) finally defeated Jannik Sinner (No. 2 in the ATP) after four sets:  6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 7-5. 

Despite losing in the semi-finals to Carlos Alcaraz, veteran Novak Djokovic (38) surprised 

the New York crowd with his talent and his almost unrivalled level of play. Some experts noted that 

this is the first time since 2002 that Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic have been 

absent from a Grand Slam final. 

More than 1,000,000 spectators bought tickets to attend the tennis matches. The economic impact of 

this year's US Open is estimated at $1 billion for New York City alone (tourism, hotels, etc.).
